Encord is hiring engineers to build the backend systems powering a data platform that handles billions of items of data, both structured and unstructured. You’ll work across PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, crafting performant, reliable services at scale, with autonomy in a small, collaborative team.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership from architecture to deployment, monitoring, and user impact, with a lean team and focus on solving complex infrastructure challenges.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience with scalable systems.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse.
• Proficiency in Python; Rust is a plus.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and GCP.
• Experience in mission-critical reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain highly performant backend systems handling large data volumes.
• Work with relational and columnar databases to ensure fast queries and storage at scale.
• Take end-to-end ownership from architecture to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with a lean, high-trust team to drive projects forward.
