Senior Backend Engineer

This role is Hybrid, 1 day p/w in Oxford.

La Fosse are partnering with an established research & development institute, who are looking to extend their software development team.

The successful candidate will be joining a cross-functional team working alongside architects, platform engineers, and data engineers to build infrastructure that empowers scientists to access the data they need for ground‑breaking bioinformatics pipelines and data products.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will develop the platform services that store and provide access to the data.

Key Requirements:

• Python and/or Node.JS
• SQL
• GraphQL
• Expertise in at least one cloud platform and its managed data services.
• Experience building APIs
• Experience in Genomics / Life Sciences

Nice to have:

• Kubernetes and/or Docker
• Kafka
• Oracle
