Job summary

The Growth Foundation in London is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to shape the architecture behind a scalable platform for DTC and e-commerce brands. You will design robust backend systems, build APIs, and own code, infrastructure, tests and monitoring end to end.

You will bring 4+ years of production backend experience, strong Python and TypeScript, and hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, PostgreSQL and Redis.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production-grade backend systems.
• Proficient in Python and TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS ECS/SQS, Docker and GitHub Actions.
• Strong PostgreSQL and Redis knowledge.
• Experience with high-throughput systems or background jobs.
• Commitment to clean, maintainable code and great developer experience.

Responsibilities

I'm hiring for a fast-growing tech company that’s changing how leading DTC and e-commerce brands reach the customers they struggle to get through to: the ones who ignore emails, scroll past retargeting ads and don't respond to SMS.

Their platform plugs straight into tools like Shopify and Klaviyo, and it's already delivering measurable incremental revenue for some of the best brands in the world. Now they need a Senior Full Stack (Backend) Engineer to help shape the architecture behind it.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and building robust, scalable backend systems
• Architecting infrastructure for job processing, analytics and event tracking
• Building internal tooling for rate limiting, quotas and authentication
• Developing and maintaining APIs and backend services
• Working closely with product, design and customer experience to ship great features
• Owning your work end to end: code, infrastructure, tests and monitoring

What you'll bring:

• 4+ years building production-grade backend systems
