Job summary

Runware is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and evolve the systems and APIs powering our Web App and DevEx. You’ll own backend work from requirements to delivery, collaborating with product, design and other engineering teams.

As a hands-on engineer, you’ll write robust code, contribute to architectural decisions across frontend and backend boundaries, and help ensure secure, scalable production systems for a fast-growing platform.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building backend services and APIs.
• Strong programming skills in at least one backend language and ability to learn new ones quickly.
• Proven track record of reliable, well-tested production systems.
• Solid understanding of API design, asynchronous workloads and distributed systems.
• Focus on security, reliability and performance in production.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal and developer-facing APIs and services powering the Web App and DevEx.
• Develop and evolve public API functionality including tasks, validation, routing and WebSocket/REST behaviour.
• Own and maintain the Admin API and panel as an internal platform used across Runware.
• Work with usage, billing and customer data to ensure accuracy and reliability (Stripe).
• Investigate production issues and security vulnerabilities affecting the Web App and APIs.
• Write, test and review clean, maintainable code with strong engineering practices.
