Job summary

Digital Waffle is seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to shape cloud infrastructure and automation. You will work with development, infrastructure and security teams, acting as a senior escalation point and helping raise engineering standards across the platform.

You’ll design and maintain Azure infrastructure with IaC, manage production Kubernetes/AKS environments, build reusable modules, and drive platform reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure with a focus on Azure.
• Proven ability to automate and standardise deployments at scale.
• Strong collaboration across development, infrastructure and security teams.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable Azure infrastructure using Terraform and IaC.
• Develop production Kubernetes/AKS environments including upgrades and security.
• Create reusable Terraform modules and automation templates.
• Design Azure networking (VNets, hub-and-spoke, DNS, NSGs, firewalls).
• Implement cloud security practices across IAM, container security and infra.
• Maintain Helm charts and deployment processes for app teams.
• Improve monitoring, logging, tracing and platform observability.
• Automate repetitive tasks with Python or Bash.
• Contribute to technical designs and platform roadmaps.
• Enhance developer experience with tooling and self-service capabilities.
• Act as senior escalation point and mentor engineers.
