Job summary

Parser, a fast-growing technology organisation in the United Kingdom, seeks an Azure Principal Platform Engineer to architect a greenfield AKS platform on an Azure landing zone and lead a shift toward cloud-native, asynchronous architectures.

You will act as SME, bootstrap platform team, define operating model, upskill engineers, and implement OpenTelemetry observability, GitOps pipelines, and policy-as-code. This is a high-impact, fintech-adjacent role with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating multi-cluster AKS in production.
• Proven ability to architect complex Kubernetes platforms from scratch.
• Experience with platform engineering: ingress, service mesh, policy-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Architect and bootstrap a greenfield, multi-tenant AKS platform on Azure.
• Serve as Kubernetes SME to guide long-term architectural direction.
• Define Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and operating model.
• Upskill internal engineers into a high-performing platform team.
• Design enterprise-grade logging, metrics, tracing (OpenTelemetry).
• IaC leadership: state strategy, modules, drift management.
• Manage multi-tenant AKS with namespaces/RBAC, network policies.
