Your role and responsibilities

As a Senior Application Developer - Azure Cloud Full Stack at IBM, you will leverage your deep technical expertise and leadership capabilities to drive innovation and excellence in cloud solutions for our healthcare clients. This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver transformative, cloud‑native applications that enhance healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and support IBM’s mission to advance digital transformation in the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex cloud‑native applications on the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and healthcare domain experts to define robust system architectures and ensure seamless integration with Azure services.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies, frameworks, and best practices, applying them to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of cloud‑native strategies and technology roadmaps aligned with IBM’s healthcare innovation goals.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Extensive experience in developing rich, high‑performance user interfaces using Single‑Page Applications (SPAs) or micro‑frontend architectures.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing scalable, resilient backend microservices aligned with 12‑factor app principles.
  • Strong understanding of modern SQL and NoSQL data modeling techniques and best practices.
  • Proficiency in .NET Core, Node.js, and other purpose‑built programming languages and runtimes for enterprise‑grade solutions.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services, frameworks, and best‑practice architectures.
  • Hands‑on experience with event‑driven architectures, particularly using Kafka and Zookeeper.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑native CI/CD pipelines and automated release processes.
  • Solid understanding and application of Test‑Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
  • Practical experience deploying and managing workloads on Azure, including Azure VMs, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Registry, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Batch, and Azure Service Fabric.
  • Experience leveraging Azure Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Azure API Management (APIM) for scalable application delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Cache for Redis.
  • Implementation experience with Azure integration services such as Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, and API Management.
  • Familiarity with Application Insights and Azure Monitor for observability, diagnostics, and performance tracking.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Boards, Pipelines, Repos, PowerShell scripting, and YAML pipeline automation.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high‑quality cloud‑native solutions within enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Strong foundation in Azure security, including identity management, access control, and threat protection.
  • Experience with front‑end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Proficiency in back‑end development using .NET, Node.js, or Python.
