Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and support secure, scalable infrastructure that spans cloud and on-premise platforms for public sector and defence clients. You will work in a highly collaborative team, delivering resilient Linux-based solutions and ensuring security and compliance across regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and support of secure AWS infrastructure platforms with a strong focus on Linux systems and cloud-native best practices
• Design and manage AWS services including EC2, VPCs, IAM, Route53, CloudWatch, S3, EBS, Load Balancers, Auto Scaling, and backup/recovery in line with security requirements
• Manage and optimize Linux server environments ensuring high availability, hardening, patching, performance and compliance with security standards
• Support and maintain core infrastructure technologies including networking, middleware, DNS, VPNs, monitoring, logging, and enterprise tooling
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to integrate AWS infrastructure solutions into CI/CD pipelines and operational support models
