Job summary

Santander is evolving into a technology-driven organisation and seeks a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer for the Data & AI Domain, based in Milton Keynes or Glasgow. You will engineer, operate, and evolve the AWS data lake platform, ensuring security, resilience, and cost-efficiency to enable data teams to deliver analytics products safely and efficiently.

This hands-on role focuses on IaC, platform automation, CI/CD, and strong collaboration with data engineering, analytics, security, and architecture

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and operating AWS data lake platforms.
• Strong understanding of IAM, encryption, and network security.
• Exposure to data governance and FinOps concepts.

Responsibilities

• Engineering and operating the AWS data lake infrastructure with high availability and security.
• Designing IaC for AWS environments and data platform components.
• Managing data ingestion frameworks, processing engines, and access layers.
• Supporting DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and environment provisioning.
• Monitoring and tuning platform performance and cost within FinOps.
