Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow in the public sector is hiring engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain full‑stack applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies. You will work on secure, scalable AWS cloud solutions and collaborate with architects, product owners, and security specialists to deliver business‑aligned outcomes.

Expect to implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK/CloudFormation), develop CI/CD pipelines, and apply DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing full-stack applications using modern technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, Java, or Python.
• Strong hands-on expertise in AWS cloud services, architecture, deployment, and application modernisation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated testing, containerisation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls, IAM, encryption, secrets management, logging, and monitoring.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimise application performance, scalability, resilience, and cost.
• Experience working in Agile teams, conducting code reviews, and applying software engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver secure solutions for UK public sector clients.
