Job summary

Jonta M&E is seeking an experienced HV Senior Authorised Person to join our growing electrical infra team in the UK. The role will be largely site-based with some hybrid working where project needs allow, and involves 70% operations and 30% project delivery.

You will carry out SAP duties, plan HV isolations, support protection, commissioning and testing, and contribute to major power projects across the West Midlands and surrounding regions.

Qualifications

• HV SAP authorisation held currently or previously.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems and substation environments.
• Experience managing HV isolations, switching and Permits to Work.
• Background in protection and commissioning is highly desirable.
• Good communication and leadership skills across teams.

We are looking for a SAP to join our client who are located in West Midlands, Central England, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire or surrounding areas.

Jonta Recruitment are working with a growing electrical infrastructure business looking to recruit an experienced HV Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with a strong background in Protection & Commissioning.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for HV operational activities while also supporting protection, commissioning and project delivery.

The Role

Initially site-based, with opportunities for hybrid working depending on project and operational requirements.

The position will involve approximately 70% operational duties and 30% project delivery and commissioning support.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out Senior Authorised Person (SAP) duties across HV electrical networks.
• Planning and undertaking HV isolations, switching operations and issuing Permits to Work.
• Supporting electrical maintenance and operational activities across substations and infrastructure.
• Supporting HV protection, commissioning, testing and installation activities.
• Reviewing protection schemes, protection relays and associated operations.
• Ensuring compliance with electrical safety rules, procedures and safe systems of work.
• Supporting network upgrades, improvement works and capital projects.

About You

• Current or previous HV Senior Authorised Person authorisation.
• Strong technical knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems.
• Experience working within substations and electrical infrastructure environments.
• Proven experience managing HV isolations, switching operations and Permit to Work systems.
• A strong background in Protection & Commissioning – highly desirable and close to essential.
• Knowledge of protection relays and associated testing activities.
• Experience using CPAMS and related operational systems.
• The ability to work across operational, maintenance and project environments.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
