Job summary

Astute's Power Team in Aberdeen is expanding its High Voltage capabilities and seeks a Senior Authorised Person to lead HV projects and ensure safe, compliant operation up to 33kV. You will oversee HV switching, isolation, earthing and permit-to-work procedures, support maintenance and project delivery, and help grow the HV division alongside the LV team.

Job description

Astute's Power Team is partnering with an established electrical engineering business looking to expand its High Voltage capabilities to recruit a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for its Aberdeen office.

The strategically important Senior Authorised Person role comes with a competitive salary of £50,000-£70,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience, alongside a flexible package and benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Authorised Person role

Reporting to the senior management team, you will:

• Provide technical expertise across HV electrical systems, including systems up to 33kV.
• Oversee HV switching, isolation, earthing and permit-to-work procedures, where appropriately authorised.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules, procedures and relevant industry standards.
• Support HV maintenance, installation, commissioning and project delivery.
• Assist with tender submissions, project planning and the development of new HV services.
• Work alongside the existing Low Voltage (LV) team to deliver integrated electrical solutions.
• Help establish the processes, procedures and client relationships needed to grow the HV division in Aberdeen.

Professional qualifications

• Relevant electrical qualifications.
• Strong practical experience working with High Voltage electrical systems.
• A sound understanding of HV safety procedures, switching operations and safe systems of work.
• Experience in HV maintenance, installation, commissioning or related electrical engineering projects.
