Job summary

Capita plc is seeking an experienced internal audit professional to support the Audit Manager and Heads of Internal Audit in delivering audits across Capita's divisions and group functions.

You will work in small teams or independently, planning, executing and reporting audits while maintaining independence and alignment with Capita's policies and IIA standards. The role emphasizes collaboration across risk, compliance and business units.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver audit assignments in small teams or independently under supervision.
  • Involve in planning, execution and reporting of audits.
  • Deliver high-quality internal audits in line with IIA standards and Capita policies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the business throughout the audit process.
  • Collaborate with Risk & Compliance and other second line functions.
  • Identify and escalate risks and issues to Audit Managers.
  • Work with management while maintaining independence and openness to feedback.

Job description

Purpose of the role:

Key responsibility is to work with the Audit Manager and Heads of Internal Audit to deliver all aspects of the internal audit service and audit plans for Capita's divisions and Group Functions.

What you’ll be doing
  • To work in small teams and independently, with coaching, supervision and review from Audit Manager to deliver individual audit assignments;
  • Being involved in the planning, execution and reporting of individual audits;
  • Deliver quality internal audit service /audits to the Divisions and/or Functions and provide the internal audit service in line with the Capita internal audit methodology, International Internal Audit (IIA) standards and Capita's Policies and Standards.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with the business throughout the audit process;
  • Working with the Risk & Compliance team and other second line functions;
  • Identifying and escalating risks and issues within the business to the Audit Managers; and
  • To work in collaboration with management whilst maintaining independence, being agile and flexible to business needs, providing insight to management, responding positively to feedback from the business and role modeling the Capita Values.
What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills, able to influence outcomes and building relationships across the organisation
  • Strong business and commercial understanding which facilitates credibility and confidence when interacting with the business
  • Ability to press for detail, and understand issues at an appropriate level of depth, and identify root causes
  • The ability and willingness to develop their skills and provide coaching and support to peers
  • The ability to contribute to the development of a strong and a highly capable internal audit team that is seen as highly competent across the organisation
  • At least 3 years of experience (including at least 2 post qualification) in a professional services or internal audit role
  • Experience in successful delivery of audit work
  • Proven ability to build relationships as part of audit assignments
  • A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
Desirable
  • Recognised professional or audit qualification e.g., ACA, ACCA or CIIA equivalents
