Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Guildford is seeking an Audiology Assistant to support clinicians with adult and paediatric tests, manage patient flow and assist with administration and stock.
You will perform basic hearing tests, prepare equipment, maintain records, assist with outreach sites, and ensure safety and cleanliness of clinic rooms. A can-do attitude and good communication are essential.
Utilise effective communication with patients, carers, relatives and relevant others. Assist Audiologists with specialised and complex tests (adult and paediatric population). Assist with vestibular procedures.
Provide the following services (adult population):
Create patient appointments for RSCH clinics at Guildford and external sites on the patient management systems. Scan referral letters onto the patient management system. Manage and take responsibility for patients as they arrive for their appointments and sign them in on the appropriate systems. Assist in clerical and reception duties as required. Prepare clinics for and at outreach sites: patient records, equipment and stock. Maintain stock levels in Audiology rooms at RSCH Guildford and external sites. Responsible for Omnicell cabinet bin levels and liaise with procurement and Lead Audiologists. Check and organise distribution and transport of monthly stock to FPH sites. Assist in monitoring overall stock levels. Assist with monthly stock stats. Send ear mould impressions to manufacturers and receipt them on return. Take meeting notes when required. Ensure requested batteries and tubing are sent out to the patients. Complete Audiology outcomes on the patient management system. Order and receipt stock ordered in the Audiology department. Responsible for organising paperwork left at the departmental printer. Visit outreach sites as required. Undertake any such duties as deemed appropriate by the Head of Department.
Assist with the delivery of internal training programmes with support of the Team Lead. Update skills and clinical knowledge as appropriate for the role. Participate in audits, surveys and research. Participate in staff meetings and propose changes to working practices in own area. Undertake any such duties as deemed appropriate by the Head of Department.
