We've got an exciting opportunity to join our Stamp Taxes team at EY, who advises across the board on all areas of stamp taxes and ATED and acts for a wide range of UK and international clients. As well as advising multinational corporations we also advise developers, investment banks, fund managers, investors, lenders and public bodies. We also have a strong international and inbound network.

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to join EY's specialist Stamp Taxes team. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with our excellent existing clients, providing a great opportunity to build and expand their network and be instrumental in delivering quality outputs and supporting the senior team in winning new business.

The types of project you'll contribute towards may include:

  • IPO's and listings
  • Inversions, take-overs and cross-border mergers
  • International reorganisations and restructurings
  • Property transactions
  • Real estate and share fund transactions
  • Financial service transactions
  • Due diligence
  • Liaising with HMRC Stamp Taxes

You’ll need to proactively maintain your technical knowledge by keeping abreast of stamp tax developments so that you can better advise our clients and in return we’ll provide investment in the right sort of training and offer you the opportunities on projects and assignments that will develop and challenge you so that you're in the best place to further develop as a tax professional.

It is a great time to join the Stamp Taxes team as we are currently looking to expand and are keen to speak with experienced Senior Associates or Associates looking for a step up.

Your key responsibilities

You will contribute to the efficient and successful delivery of tax services to the client, building and maintaining tax relationships with clients to provide high levels of client service.

  • Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
  • Assist in winning work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients.
  • Manage the successful delivery of stamp tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken
  • Contribute to successfully extracting maximum value for both EY and clients from the tax services delivered whilst managing risk appropriately for both client and the firm.
Skills and attributes for success
  • Experienced tax/legal practitioner with reviewing skills and some expertise in Stamp Taxes
  • Client driven and strategically and commercially aware
  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work
  • Strong and motivated team player
To qualify for the role you must have
  • ACA/ATT/CTA or international equivalent / Law qualification
  • Stamp Tax experience
  • Graduate/Graduate calibre or equivalent work experience
