Nixon McQuade in Manchester is seeking a Senior Associate for its Catastrophic Injury & Large Loss team. The role involves defending high-value travel claims for insurers and other clients, with exposure to international matters and a broad disputes workload.

You will manage a varied caseload from investigation to resolution, supervise junior lawyers, and contribute to client relationships and business development in a busy team environment.

Formación

• 5+ years' PQE in complex litigation.
• Experience handling high-value or complex insurance defence matters.
• Experience managing litigation including court proceedings.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and technical skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and a practical approach to resolving disputes.
• Ability to manage varied caseload and deadlines.
• Excellent client management and communication skills.

Senior Associate – Catastrophic Injury & Large Loss (5+ PQE)

The Role

Join a leading Catastrophic Injury & Large Loss team at a leading international law firm in Manchester.

The team specialises in defending complex, high-value travel claims, acting for major insurers, tour operators, brokers and commercial organisations on both UK and international matters.

The work is varied and technically challenging, with exposure to a broad range of disputes. You will work closely with experienced Partners and senior lawyers, taking responsibility for your own caseload while advising clients on complex and often sensitive claims.

The role will involve managing litigation from initial investigation through to resolution, including reviewing medical evidence, preparing witness statements, drafting legal documentation, managing court proceedings and developing effective litigation strategies.

As a Senior Associate, you will also have the opportunity to supervise and mentor junior lawyers, develop client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the team.

The Person

• 5+ years' PQE, with experience in complex litigation.

The Perks

• Salary circa £70,000, depending on experience.
