As Regent continues expanding its European footprint, we are seeking a high-caliber Senior Associate to support both M&A transactions and portfolio operations across the firms automotive and industrial investments in Germany and greater Europe.

Position Overview

The Senior Associate, M&A and Portfolio Operations will play a dual role supporting the full deal lifecycle from acquisition through transformation and value creation within the portfolio. This role is ideal for a highly analytical, hands‑on professional with a background in restructuring consulting and a solid foundation in finance or investment analysis.

You will work closely with Regents investment professionals, Operating Partners, and portfolio company leadership to identify acquisition targets, support diligence, and execute operational improvements post‑close.

Key Responsibilities
M&A and Investment Execution
  • Support the end-to‑end deal process including sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and deal structuring.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify new investment opportunities in Europe.
  • Prepare investment committee materials and assist in coordination of external advisors (legal, financial, technical).
Portfolio Operations
  • Partner with portfolio company management teams to support and track key transformation initiatives across functions (e.g., supply chain, SG&A, working capital, plant operations).
  • Monitor and improve financial performance through KPI tracking, operational benchmarking, and value creation plans.
  • Assist in integration planning and execution for newly acquired businesses.
  • Identify cost savings, revenue enhancement, and process improvement opportunities in collaboration with Regents Operating Partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Interface regularly with Regents Los Angeles headquarters and European leadership to ensure alignment on strategic and operational goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to portfolio company CEOs and functional leads.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience & Background
  • 47 years of experience in a top‑tier restructuring consulting firm, private equity, investment banking, or a transaction advisory practice.
  • Strong track record of executing complex transactions and / or operational improvement projects.
  • Experience in the automotive, industrials, or manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.
  • Previous exposure to the private equity environment or portfolio company operations is a plus.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated.
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial settings.
