Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Associate with at least five years of post-qualification experience to join its Corporate & Commercial team. This permanent role involves advising local and international clients, including private individuals, institutions, and professional intermediaries. The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of matters, including corporate and commercial law, banking and finance transactions, and trust law advice.

Job Duties:

  • Manage files and transactions, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Identify key legal and commercial issues proactively.
  • Work collaboratively within the team and support partners as required.
  • Provide clear, technically accurate legal advice to clients.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness relevant to clients' objectives.
  • Adhere to the firm's procedures, including anti-money laundering regulations and time-recording requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding scope, costs, progress, and any emerging issues.
  • Manage multiple workstreams for various clients.
  • Maintain and develop existing client relationships.
  • Participate in business development activities both individually and with colleagues.
  • Mentor and supervise junior team members when required.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer with up to seven years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in corporate and/or commercial law and/or banking and finance.
  • Knowledge of trust law in relation to Jersey-administered trust and corporate structures or high-net-worth private clients is advantageous.
  • Strong technical legal skills and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
