Job summary

Connect Legal Partners in Leeds is seeking a banking & finance associate to join the firm’s Leeds banking team. You will work on leveraged and corporate finance matters, from first term sheet through to completion, including sponsor-backed deals and portfolio work.

The role requires five years’ PQE in banking and finance, solid leveraged and cashflow experience, and confidence dealing with lenders, borrowers and advisers. A clear route to progression is offered.

• Confidence running matters and dealing with lenders, borrowers and advisers.
• Interest in building client relationships and winning work.

Responsibilities

• Join the banking team in Leeds with a focus on leveraged and corporate finance.
• Draft and negotiate facility agreements and security packages on LMA and non‑LMA terms.
• Negotiate intercreditor arrangements.
• Handle portfolio work such as amendments, resets, restatements and bolt‑on acquisitions with corporate and restructuring colleagues.

A national top 50 UK law firm with offices across the UK. It acts for a large base of corporate, lender and property clients and has a settled, supportive culture.

The role

You will join the banking team in Leeds with a focus on leveraged and corporate finance, helping grow the practice across the North.

Work covers sponsor backed deals, corporate lending and growth or venture debt, from first term sheet through to completion.

You will draft and negotiate facility agreements and security packages on LMA and non LMA terms, and negotiate intercreditor arrangements.

There is also a steady flow of portfolio work such as amendments, resets, restatements and bolt on acquisitions, working closely with corporate and restructuring colleagues.

What you will need

Five years or more PQE in banking and finance.

Solid leveraged, cashflow and general banking experience.

Confidence running matters and dealing with lenders, borrowers and advisers.
