Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Assistant Pharmaceutical Officer to join our Pharmacy Sterile Production Unit. The role focuses on aseptic processing of patient medicines, chemotherapy and other sterile products.

You will work with Pharmacy Technicians, Assistant Technical Officers and Pharmacists to ensure safe, timely delivery and maintain documentation, training and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience of all aspects of Aseptic Processing is essential.
• Must be able to perform calculations and transcribe information onto worksheets.
• Understanding of a wide range of SOPs or work practices.
• Experience of working in a Hospital Aseptic Unit or similar environment.
• Evidence of supervisory skills.
• In-Process Checking Accreditation or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Document and assemble items prior to processing and complete records.
• Aseptic processing of patient medicines and related products.
• Volume checking accreditation to supervise aseptic processes.
• Education and training to demonstrate competence; NVQ level 2 within six months.
• Attend training as necessary.
