Job summary

Tate Liverpool seeks a skilled Exhibitions and Art Handling Lead to head a team of Art Handling Technicians and oversee the care and movement of artworks across media.

You will coordinate installations, de-installations, and storage, develop practical plans for complex exhibits, and ensure safe handling and precise schedules while maintaining high standards for conservation and display. You will report to the Art Handling Manager and work under pressure to deliver ambitious exhibitions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Exhibitions and Art Handling team at Tate Liverpool in the lead up to reopening.

The post-holder will lead a team of Art Handling Technicians and undertake the management and care of artworks at Tate Liverpool in a wide variety of media. This includes installation and de-installation as well as the safe handling, movement and storage of artworks. The role reports to the Art Handling Manager.

To be successful in this role you will bring significant expertise in the handling, installation and care of complex artworks. You will be able to lead and motivate a team, communicate effectively and work confidently and accurately under pressure.

You will also have experience of developing technical solutions to challenging installations and advising on plans and schedules. You will be responsible for the care, maintenance and storage of art handling equipment and materials.
