Overview

Our client, a respected and forward-thinking architectural practice based in Newport, is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their growing team. This is a key role within the practice, ideal for a candidate with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience and a proven track record in delivering high-quality technical packages across a range of sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of detailed working drawing packages (RIBA Stages 3-7)
  • Produce and oversee accurate technical specifications and construction documentation
  • Manage and support the technical delivery of multiple projects, ensuring design and technical standards are maintained
  • Collaborate closely with Architects, Technologists, consultants, and contractors to resolve complex technical issues
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of internal technical standards
  • Attend site visits and represent the practice in client and contractor meetings
  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and best practice construction methods
  • Utilise Revit and BIM software to develop, manage, and present technical documentation (Revit proficiency preferred; training available if needed)
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a UK architectural practice
  • CIAT or Chartered Membership preferred (or actively working towards)
  • Extensive technical knowledge and a strong understanding of UK construction methods and detailing
  • In-depth experience of RIBA Work Stages 3-7 with a proven track record of project delivery
  • Excellent ability to produce and coordinate comprehensive technical drawing packages and specifications
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM highly desirable
  • Strong communication and coordination skills - confident in leading technical discussions and working with external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage time, workloads, and priorities across multiple projects
  • Based within a commutable distance of Newport
