We are seeking a Senior Application Developer - EAI to architect and deliver enterprise‑grade integration solutions across complex digital ecosystems. You will play a key role in designing message flows, APIs, and middleware solutions using technologies such as IBM IIB, MuleSoft, webMethods, and IBM DataPower. Your expertise in SOAP and RESTful services, data transformation, and security protocols will drive scalable and resilient integrations across on‑premise and cloud environments. You’ll lead development initiatives, mentor junior developers, and ensure adherence to architectural best practices. Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex EAI and API integration flows across cloud and on‑prem environments.
- Lead technical design sessions and provide guidance on architecture and implementation.
- Perform data mapping, transformation, and performance optimisation of integrations.
- Oversee integration testing, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Experience in cloud integration and middleware technologies.
- Specialised in webMethods on‑Premise and Cloud B2B integrations, MuleSoft Development, IBM Integration Bus, IBM DataPower, WebSphere Cast Iron and API Connect with a strong background in enterprise integration, API management and cloud‑based solutions.
- Expertise in solution architecture consulting, pre‑sales activities, due diligence and proof‑of‑concept (PoC) execution. Adept at working in agile environments, leading cross‑functional teams and ensuring seamless integration of systems.
- Experienced in technical leadership, troubleshooting and optimising technology stacks to enhance operational efficiency.
- Strong background in enterprise integration, middleware and cloud‑based solutions.
- Proficiency with one or more tools: IBM Integration Bus, MuleSoft, webMethods, IBM DataPower, or API Connect.
- In‑depth knowledge of web services (SOAP, REST, HTTP), SSL/TLS and related security standards.
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex system integrations and optimising technology stacks.
- Proven ability to work effectively in agile and cross‑functional teams.
- You must have the valid right to work in the UK, be a resident in the UK and have been living continuously in the UK for the last 5 years. You must be able to hold or gain a UK government security clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with hybrid integration architectures.
- Exposure to solution design and pre‑sales technical consulting.
- Familiarity with containerisation or DevOps pipelines.
- Certification in relevant middleware or cloud platforms.
