Job summary

Viatris is seeking a laboratory based analytical scientist to carry out analytical testing in support of product development, clinical studies and product registration. You will lead experiments to develop analytical methods and report outcomes to the project team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Forensics, or related discipline, or substantial practical experience.
• Good understanding of laboratory safety and best practices.
• Strong understanding of physical, organic, and analytical chemistry with advanced knowledge in relevant areas.
• Familiar with analytical chemistry calculations and statistics.
• Experience with modern laboratory techniques, including HPLC.
• Ability to plan and coordinate day-to-day activities of a small team.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality results.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Lead troubleshooting activities and investigations.
• Good IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Enthusiastic about laboratory-based work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out analytical activities to support new respiratory products through clinical studies and commercialisation.
• Lead planning and execution of experiments to understand analytical methods, formulations, and processes.
• Perform analytical testing related to clinical supplies, stability studies, and process scale-up.
• Process and review data, interpret results, and report outcomes to the project team.
• Lead troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation and investigations into irregular results.
• Maintain laboratory documentation according to cGMP practices.
• Support project delivery through housekeeping, ordering supplies, shipping samples, and related tasks.
• Collaborate with senior analysts to improve lab operations and procedures.
• Oversee day-to-day work of junior lab staff.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, GMP, GCP, Quality, and Compliance policies.
