Title: Senior Analytical Chemist

Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester

Salary: 37,000 - 40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

SRG is exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing speciality chemical manufacturer who are now looking to hire a Senior Analytical Chemist to join the lab team at their site in Manchester. This exciting Senior Analytical Chemist opportunity would be well suited to an Analyst with several years' experience developing GC‑MS and GC‑FID methods looking to take a step up and secure a role in a fantastic business who place significant emphasis on employee wellbeing.

Role / Description
  • Reviewing current laboratory processes to understand improvement areas
  • Developing, troubleshooting and optimising GC‑MS and GC‑FID methods
  • Managing multiple improvement projects
  • Working with the Analytical Manager to prioritise the workload of the team
  • Mentoring and training of Analysts in the team
  • Reverse engineering of competitor chemicals to determine composition
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of GC‑MS and GC‑FID instruments
Requirements
  • Significant, recent industrial experience developing GC‑MS and GC‑FID methods
  • Experience carrying out analytical process improvement projects
  • Demonstrable experience of mentoring and training Analysts
  • Experience in an ISO accredited laboratory would be highly advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with a multitude of departments
  • Able to multi‑task and change priorities quickly depending on business need
