Job summary

Baillie Gifford seeks a Senior Analyst in Assurance Technology & Data to strengthen the technology, data and automation underpinning the firm’s second-line Risk and Compliance Assurance programme.

The role blends surveillance, data analysis and rapid automation to improve monitoring efficiency while maintaining strong controls and professional judgement within a Risk & Insight context.

Qualifications

• Experience using technology, data or automation to support risk-based monitoring, oversight or assurance.
• Experience performing risk-based monitoring activity, including reviewing alerts and cases, analysing system outputs and drawing conclusions.
• Experience managing compliance surveillance systems, including trade surveillance and e-communications monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day management and configuration of surveillance systems and their outputs.
• Perform risk-based monitoring across Investment Risk, Compliance, Business Risk and Anti-Financial Crime using tech-enabled approaches.
• Review alerts/cases, analyse system outputs and determine escalation or further review.
• Use data and AI-enabled tools to identify trends, exceptions and emerging risks to improve monitoring.
• Translate monitoring requirements into repeatable data queries, dashboards and automated workflows.
• Support data quality, lineage and reconciliation affecting monitoring outputs.
• Contribute to design of continuous monitoring capability and risk indicators.
• Assess and validate new monitoring capabilities balancing efficiency with controls.
• Produce management information on system performance and assurance outcomes for stakeholders.
• Help establish standards and repeatable practices for surveillance usage across teams.
