Job description

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst in Asset Services based in Jersey. This role involves ensuring that the bank's cash positions are utilised effectively, monitoring and funding accounts, and proactively managing and reducing risk while keeping losses minimal. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering an environment of continuous improvement and quality. Employees have the flexibility to work remotely up to one day per week, depending on working arrangements. This position is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the bank's operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The candidate will play a key role in facilitating timely and accurate financial operations while managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Job Duties
  • Supervise and train the Cash Position Keeper to ensure timely and accurate completion of cash position functions.
  • Provide accurate and timely deal processing, settlement, mark to market exposure, collateral checking, payments monitoring, confirmations, and MIS support.
  • Ensure all internal and regulatory reporting is completed in accordance with Standing Orders and Unit Financial requirements.
  • Provide cover in the absence of the Manager and retain business knowledge while considering regulatory impacts.
  • Check cash movements including the funding of correspondent bank accounts and monitoring Corporate Treasury funding contracts.
  • Ensure all collateral is booked and marked to market (MTM) accurately, reconciling all collateral positions to third-party depositories.
  • Manage negotiation and determination of all collateral marks with trading counterparts.
  • Responsible for providing accurate cash positions to traders within agreed SLA timings, including calculation of end-of-day/start-of-day positions.
  • Perform quality reviews of Treasury Control and Equity Finance activities.
  • Ensure appropriate procedures and controls are in place for effective management of processes and reporting on trading activities.
  • Review and monitor market risk in the Channel Islands based Corporate Treasury trading books, liaising closely with Group Risk Management (GRM) London.
  • Produce and distribute risk reports, including Large Exposures and High-Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) reporting, in compliance with Corporate Treasury/GRM requirements.
  • Act as an escalation point for issues surrounding late processing or booking and other errors.
Job Requirements
  • Knowledge of FX and Money Market instruments as well as operational banking procedures/structures.
  • A sound understanding of Equities and Fixed Income products, along with basic trading strategies.
  • A strong understanding of Treasury requirements, including risk factors and mitigation.
  • A thorough understanding of the WMI business models.
  • Awareness of market regulations and legislative developments.
  • Excellent communication skills across all mediums.
  • (Nice-to-have) Qualified Banking or Qualified Securities professional.
  • (Nice-to-have) Ability to recognise standard banking transactions and message formats.
  • (Nice-to-have) Experience with Excel macros and/or Visual Basic.
