FirstWord Therapy Trends

Therapy Trends reports deliver critical and unbiased intelligence derived from in‑depth interviews with the world’s foremost key opinion leaders on the current and future treatment landscapes in major disease areas. Research is focused on the major battlegrounds for market share and answers critical business questions about potential product positioning and competitiveness. Through continuous monitoring and frequent re‑engagement with stakeholders, the Therapy Trends analyst team delivers update bulletins with each report, ensuring insights remain current and relevant.

Objective

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmaceutical analyst to become part of a young team charged with taking the FirstWord Therapy Trends brand to the next level. The role of Senior Analyst is hugely significant to the development of Therapy Trends reports. Individuals who achieve success in this position will go on to lead core areas within the disease analysis franchise.

This is a hands‑on role, where fast‑changing industry events will demand a rapid response from you. You will have the energy and drive to be first to report on the challenges and opportunities that our clients face on a day‑to‑day basis.

What you will do
  • Own research projects end‑to‑end: identify and prioritise subjects that offer the best opportunities; conduct research, analysis, writing, compilation and release of reports and services; support the development and communication of core product and service value propositions.
  • Event‑driven analysis: produce timely, accurate analysis when major news or data breaks.
  • Meet demanding targets: hit research and publishing goals for timing, quality, value and cost.
  • Build expert networks: recruit, develop and manage a pool of world‑renowned KOLs who are a source of original, critical market insights.
  • Qualitative KOL research: conduct semi‑structured interviews with leading medical KOLs to map current and future treatment algorithms and market segments.
  • Exploit information networks: use internal and external information and expert networks to develop unique, innovative, market‑leading intelligence services.
  • Collaborate across the group: work with group companies, business units, teams and colleagues to advance FirstWord Reports’ products and services.
  • Client feedback loops: establish mechanisms to capture and act on client feedback to refine topics, angles and formats and to drive continuous improvement.
  • Original thinking: bring fresh topics and perspectives that differentiate Therapy Trends and deliver market‑leading insight and value.
  • High standards: maintain meticulous attention to detail and pride in work.
  • Communication: deliver research outcomes in a clear, concise and compelling style.
Who you are
  • Masters, PhD or First‑Class degree in life sciences preferred, and/or experience as an analyst of therapy‑area markets and their future potential.
  • Highly motivated with a strong desire to reach and exceed targets and a determination to drive performance ever higher.
  • An exceptional work ethic and a deep‑rooted interest in the pharmaceutical industry and its role in developing diagnoses and treatments of major medical conditions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and pride in work.
  • Excellent written, verbal, numerical and analytical skills.
  • Qualitative and thematic methods: knowledge and experience of established and new qualitative research methodologies.
  • GenAI proficiency: using approved tools appropriately, for desk research, data extraction and analysis, thematic analysis, insight generation, outlines, drafting, summarisation and editing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Resourceful and self‑sufficient; ready to take the initiative; equally comfortable working alone or within a team.
  • Based in the UK or Western Europe.
