Nu Quantum in Cambridge, UK, is seeking an experimental Physicist to advance trapped‑ion quantum technology. You’ll work at the AMO interface of atomic physics, cavity QED, and quantum engineering to push entanglement rates and fidelities using integrated micro‑cavity tech.

You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines to design, prototype, and test scalable quantum networks, shaping the company’s long‑term vision while mentoring colleagues and driving innovation in a fast‑moving

Qualifications

• Leadership in a cross-disciplinary setup delivering complex projects.
• Proven track record in managing research grants or multi‑team projects.
• Strong scientific communication through papers and talks.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute remote-entanglement experiments with ion‑trapping and cavity tech.
• Mentor AMO Physicists, developing technical depth and problem‑solving.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot lab systems including lasers and electronics.
• Collaborate across Software, Optical, Mechanical and Electrical teams on integrated systems.
• Communicate results, progress and priorities to project teams and PMO.
• Uphold safety, documentation, and reliability best practices.
