Job summary

Walsall Council's Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced AMHP Senior Practitioner to join our established 24/7 AMHP Hub. This role involves working a shift pattern that includes day and night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.

You will support the day-to-day running of the service, contribute to service development, provide supervision to AMHPs and trainees, and apply a strong working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Human Rights Act, and

Qualifications

• Hold a professional qualification such as Social Worker, Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist.
• Hold the Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification.
• Evidence of approval with a Local Authority.

Responsibilities

• Manage referrals and considerations and, where appropriate, coordinate and undertake assessments.
• Provide supervision and support to AMHPs and AMHP trainees.
• Contribute to service development alongside the AMHP Lead and support the day-to-day running of the 24/7 AMHP Hub.
