Who You Are

You have a solid understanding of communications theory (modulation, coding, frequency and time synchronization etc.) and have applied this by tinkering with modem software or hardware and tweaking various processes in the lower layers of a protocol stack.

What You’ll Do

Work with suppliers on the adaptation of existing air interfaces to our specific needs on future systems. Model the impact of RF impairments and physical layer protocols on our end-to-end communications systems. Dig into the details of our already deployed physical layers and understand where there is room for improvement.

What You’ll Need
  • A degree with some component of communications theory (e.g. digital signal processing, modem design, RF / Microwave component design etc.)
  • A solid grasp of at least one programming language used for computational science (e.g. Python with appropriate packages, MATLAB, Julia etc.)
  • A few years’ experience working on deployed wireless comms systems (e.g. terrestrial cell phone networks, sat comms systems, point-to-point radios etc.)
