Job summary

Consult is seeking a strategic leader to drive enterprise AI and Generative AI initiatives. You will shape AI strategies, roadmaps, operating models and governance, engaging senior stakeholders to realise measurable value across a major government programme.

The role focuses on risk-aware adoption, portfolio prioritisation, and strong business case development to enable responsible AI transformation at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience in AI strategy development and enterprise AI transformation.
• Proven delivery across enterprise AI adoption programmes.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI in large organisations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and define enterprise AI and Generative AI strategies aligned to priorities.
• Lead AI transformation roadmapping and convert opportunities into plans.
• Design AI operating models enabling enterprise-wide adoption.
• Engage senior stakeholders to guide strategic AI adoption.
• Manage and prioritise AI portfolios to stay aligned with business objectives.
• Build robust business cases for AI investment with measurable value.

Location: Portsmouth/London/Remote

• Contract length: 12 months
• Start date: ASAP
• Day rate: Up to £600 per day
• Eligibility: Must be a UK National with a minimum of 5 years' unbroken UK residency

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and define enterprise AI and Generative AI strategies aligned to organisational priorities
• Lead AI transformation roadmapping, turning opportunities into clear implementation plans
• Design AI operating models that enable enterprise-wide adoption
• Engage senior stakeholders to guide the strategic adoption and application of AI technologies
• Manage and prioritise AI portfolios so initiatives stay aligned with wider business objectives
• Build robust business cases for AI investment, demonstrating commercial and operational value
• Establish approaches to AI value realisation, ensuring benefits are measurable
• Develop and embed AI governance and Responsible AI frameworks
• Identify, assess and help mitigate risks linked to AI implementation and adoption
• Translate business requirements into practical AI strategies and solutions with client teams

What You'll Bring

• Strong experience in AI strategy development and enterprise AI transformation
• Proven delivery experience across enterprise AI adoption programmes
• Deep understanding of Generative AI strategy and how to apply it in large organisations
• Experience creating AI operating models and transformation roadmaps
• Capabilities in AI portfolio management and value-focused business case development
• Strong knowledge of AI governance, Responsible AI and AI risk management
• Excellent consulting skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders in complex environments
