Join us as Senior AI Product Engineer to help shape the future of Nonprofit software!

We’re looking for a Product Engineer to join our relatively new team – a small, senior group building the next generation of tools that empower nonprofits to do more good.

In this role, you’ll help shape both the product and the technology from the ground up. It’s a varied, high-ownership position suited to someone who loves thinking deeply about user experience as much as writing clean, scalable code.

You’ll be part of a fast-moving, high-agency team where ideas move quickly from concept to impact.

Some sample projects – based on things we actually do:

1. Implementing Agentic AI grant search in a week as a PoC.
2. Building out a scalable, user-friendly file upload and indexing system.
3. Inventing and implementing new products entirely.

As Senior AI Product Engineer, your mission will be to:

• Build high quality, scaleable systems. Often owning a product from concept to shipping.
• Engage with nonprofits to build an intuitive understanding of their problems.
• Day to day you will be expected to write code and be involved in planning, product, and delivery.
• Be involved on a highly technical level, helping establish and build best practices regarding technologies used.
• Ensure high code quality through automated testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
• Work closely with product, design, and engineering peers.
• Contribute to product strategy through a user-centric, data-driven mindset.
• Participate in architectural decisions that shape the platform.
• Mentor engineers and help grow the team’s technical capabilities.

After 3 months, success will look like:

• Strong relationships built across the team and feel comfortable in your new surroundings.
• Features shipped that directly impact nonprofits around the world.
• Solid understanding of the product, processes, and ways of working.
• Have found the stash of sock merch in the office 🧦.

This role is a perfect match for you if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in software development (Typescript/ React/ NextJs preferred).
• Strong understanding of databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with monitoring systems, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Built a great product in the past; you know what it takes to build something that users truly love, and have the technical expertise to scale it.
• A knack for making powerful tools that are easy to use for even the least technical users.
• The ability to reason from first principles and build solutions for open-ended problems.

Bonus if you have knowledge or love of:

• Building Agentic AI workflows (with and without frameworks)
• Working in a startup environment
• Domain-Driven Development
• A formal software engineering degree is very much welcome but not required
• Tea drinking 🫖
