Job summary

Searchability NS&D in Greater London seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineer with strong computer vision and deep learning expertise to deploy production AI solutions in Defence and security environments.

The role involves designing, developing and optimizing CNNs, Vision Transformers and edge/cloud pipelines, collaborating with researchers and engineers, and delivering production‑quality software with CI/CD practices; on-site in Brentford with occasional travel to Cambridge.

Qualifications

• Strong Python/PyTorch development and production AI/ML experience.
• Expert knowledge of CNNs, Vision Transformers and modern computer vision.
• Experience developing custom neural networks, training strategies and AI research techniques.
• Strong software engineering skills including Git, testing and CI/CD.
• Experience with object detection, tracking, segmentation and real-time/edge AI.
• Knowledge of GPU optimisation, Docker, Kubernetes and MLOps.
• Experience with aerial/satellite/ISR imagery and/or Defence environments highly desirable.
• MSc/PhD in AI, Computer Vision or ML or equivalent commercial experience

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise advanced computer vision solutions using CNNs, Vision Transformers and modern deep learning techniques.
• Develop customised neural network architectures, training strategies and evaluation methods, while translating state-of-the-art research into production-ready software.
• Build scalable training, validation and inference pipelines for edge and cloud deployment.

• Up to £95k DoE plus bonus
• 4 days on site in Brentford - future travel to client site in Cambridge

What will the Senior AI/ML Engineer be doing?
