Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Mid/Senior AI LLM Engineer based in the United Kingdom to lead the development, fine-tuning, and optimization of self-hosted large language models for consumer-facing AI products. You will train, evaluate, and deploy models, focusing on memory, personality, multilingual support, and scalable production pipelines.

The role requires strong Python, PyTorch, and Hugging Face expertise, plus experience with SFT, LoRA/QLoRA, and alignment techniques.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience fine-tuning open-weight LLMs and deploying models into production.
• Strong Python programming skills for developing, testing, and maintaining ML workflows.
• Practical experience with PyTorch and Hugging Face or comparable ML frameworks and tools.
• Experience with SFT, LoRA, and QLoRA.
• Familiarity with DPO or GRPO alignment techniques.
• Experience preparing and managing training datasets and evaluation frameworks.
• GPU-based model training, performance optimization, and debugging training issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for model behavior analysis.
• Understanding deployment challenges for LLM-powered applications.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and document findings.

Responsibilities

• Fine-tune and optimize existing open-weight LLMs to improve conversational quality, response accuracy, consistency, and personalization.
• Prepare and curate training datasets to support effective model learning and relevance of responses.
• Design evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, and testing methodologies to measure model quality.
• Improve conversational memory and personality consistency over long conversations.
• Develop multilingual capabilities for interactions across different scenarios.
• Investigate failures and adjust data, prompts, and configs accordingly.
• Conduct GPU-based training and fine-tuning experiments and optimize workflows.
• Apply modern adaptation techniques like LoRA/QLoRA and alignment methods.
• Deploy improved models to production and monitor performance for iterative refinements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate model improvements into products.
• Navigate sensitive content use cases with appropriate safeguards.
