Job summary

JetBrains is seeking a senior technical leader to shape AI-native development experiences for CLion and C++ developers. This hands-on role focuses on prototyping, implementing, and validating AI-powered workflows while defining technical direction in a large codebase.

You will collaborate with product managers, ML engineers, QA, and senior developers to align AI initiatives with JetBrains' strategy, including agent tooling and IDE integration across the C++ ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience in senior technical roles.
• Experience with Kotlin/Java or other JVM technologies, or ability to learn quickly.
• Experience building AI-powered developer tools, coding assistants, or agent workflows.
• Strong understanding of modern coding agents, tool calling, and evaluation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver AI-powered features for CLion and C++ workflows.
• Design architecture for AI integrations, agent tools, and C++ AI capabilities.
• Build benchmarks and evaluation frameworks for AI-assisted development.
• Prototype and validate new AI workflows including debugging and navigation.
• Collaborate with product managers, ML/QA teams to shape roadmaps.
• Work with JetBrains AI/ML teams to define AI strategy for C++ ecosystem.
• Prioritize AI initiatives and propose innovative ideas aligned with strategy.
• Contribute to technical design and implementation in a large codebase.
• Develop a roadmap for AI agent and tool integrations in C++.
• Build trust across C++, AI, Product, QA and ML orgs.
