Job summary

Ideagen is seeking a Senior AI Data Engineer in the United Kingdom to design and build scalable data pipelines that power AI models and analytics. You will own data platforms, ensure reliability, and collaborate with AI and software engineers to drive intelligent automation.

You will mentor engineers, promote data governance and security, and help shape the data strategy across production systems. This is a remote role with salary to be discussed at the next stage.

Qualifications

• Significant experience building, scaling, and supporting production data pipelines and data platforms.
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL with maintainable solutions.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena).
• Experience operating production systems and improving platform reliability.
• Knowledge of data quality, governance, lineage, security and auditability.
• Interest or experience in AI, ML, or LLM technologies.
• Ability to influence technical decisions and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building scalable data pipelines powering AI models and analytics.
• Owning reliability, performance, and operational excellence of production data platforms.
• Developing ETL/ELT solutions using Python, SQL and cloud data technologies.
• Implementing monitoring, testing, and data quality processes for trusted datasets.
• Driving data governance, lineage, security, and dataset versioning.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver AI and data solutions.
• Mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
