Job summary

Deerfoot Recruitment Solutions in the UK is seeking a Senior AI Consultant to drive GenAI and agentic AI projects for public/private sector clients. You’ll design, build and deploy GenAI solutions, collaborating with data scientists, engineers and business stakeholders to deliver real-world impact.

The role offers a hybrid work model with office bases in London, Manchester or Glasgow, a base salary of £60,000–£80,000 plus bonus, and a strong benefits package including training and development

Qualifications

• Experience in a major consulting firm or equivalent industry role.
• Proven ability to design full-stack, production-grade GenAI solutions.
• Strong Python (3.10+), TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL and Bash.
• Experience with cloud AI tools and data engineering in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, testing and deploying front-end and back-end components of GenAI and agentic applications within a data science and AI consulting team.
• Designing agentic workflows with HITL gates, auditability, policy controls and robust evaluation/monitoring suitable for regulated clients.
• Translating complex business challenges into AI-powered solutions using Generative AI, Agentic AI, data science and analytics.
• Collaborating with cloud architects, data scientists, product managers and business consultants to take ideas from concept to production.
• Supporting business development building AI demonstrators, contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, client pitches and client events.
• Contributing internally through campaign development, think-tanks, whitepapers, offering development and practice growth, alongside your own funded learning, training and certifications.

Senior AI Consultant - Agentic AI & Generative AI

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, developing, testing and deploying front-end and back-end components of GenAI and agentic applications within a data science and AI consulting team.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience gained in a major consulting firm, or in industry with a consulting mindset comfortable in a matrixed organisation and working directly with technical and non-technical client sponsors to shape requirements and build solutions.


• A track record of designing and developingfull-stack applications across the entire lifecycle from early PoCs, through MVPs and testing, to secure, scalable, production-grade deployments.


• Proven delivery of solutions using traditional Machine Learning, Generative AI models and Agentic AI frameworks in client-facing environments, including data engineering in cloud environments.


• Strong Python (3.10+), TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), SQL and Bash.


• Front-end: React.js, Next.js (App Router & Server Components), Tailwind CSS, ShadCN UI, Redux, Zustand, Jest, Cypress plus AI product UX patterns such as streaming, review loops, provenance/citations, long-running tasks and error recovery.


• Back-end: Django (5.x+), DRF, FastAPI, Pydantic, Celery, Django Channels, Flask and RESTful APIs.


• Databases and storage: PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MongoDB, Firestore, BigQuery, Azure Blob Storage.


• Cloud and DevOps: Azure (App Services, OpenAI, AKS), GCP (Vertex AI, Cloud Run), Docker, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, RBAC and cost controls.


• Solid software engineering fundamentals: Clean Code (SOLID, DRY), DDD, modular architecture, TDD and code quality tooling.


• Desirable: RAG pipelines, MCP, LLM integration (OpenAI, Gemini, Hugging Face models), LangSmith, TruLens, and agentic frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, Autogen, OpenAI Agents and Google ADK.

You won’t need every technology on this list. A strong engineering foundation, a good cross-section of these skills, and the curiosity to pick up new tools as projects demand is what really matters.
