Job summary

Anson McCade is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead AI strategy and deliver scalable AI-powered learning experiences for millions of learners. You will define the technical roadmap, architect production systems, and mentor engineers across product, data, and engineering teams.

You will work on AI-driven personalization, content generation, and learner support tools while ensuring responsible, scalable, and secure AI implementations in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• Production experience building and deploying AI/ML products.
• Expert-level Python software engineering skills.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD, and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the technical vision for AI across our learning platform.
• Architect and build scalable AI services using large language models, ML, and modern cloud tech.
• Develop intelligent learning experiences including personalised journeys, AI tutors, content generation, assessment, recommendations, and learner support tools.
• Build production-ready AI systems with a focus on quality, reliability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with Product, Learning Design, Data Science, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve learner engagement and outcomes.
• Establish engineering standards, AI governance, and best practices across the organisation.
• Mentor senior engineers and grow a high-performing AI engineering capability.
