Main duties of the job

Cancer Care is looking for a motivated and passionate full-time Senior Administrator to support the Oncology service.

The Oncology admin department is a large group of staff covering speciality clinical areas for Medical Oncology, Clinical Oncology, Haematology and Palliative Care. You will be working as part of a team providing admin support to the Oncology service, to ensure the best possible care for patients within Cancer Care.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
  • Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy skills at GSCE pass level or equivalent.
  • Level 3 qualification in administration/customer service or equivalent experience.
  • Level 2 vocational qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as an administrator or secretary in a customer‑focused environment.
  • Ability to use judgement to make decisions for non‑routine enquiries.
  • RSA 2 and RSA 3 word‑processing/typing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Administrative and organisational experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of secretarial or administrative procedures.
  • Courses or further study demonstrating personal development.
  • Diploma‑level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in hospital computerised patient systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
