Job summary

A growing and supportive company in York is seeking a Senior Administrator for Fire & Security Estimating. In this role, you will prepare estimates and proposals for fire detection, CCTV, and security systems. The position offers full training and career advancement opportunities. You will be responsible for managing quotations, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring accurate documentation. Qualifications

  • Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
  • Experience in fire & security or construction admin is beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of BS 5839 / BS 8629 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and format quotations, proposals and design documents.
  • Request pricing and product information from suppliers.
  • Keep internal systems updated and accurate.
  • Follow up on quotations and assist Account Managers with queries.

Senior Administrator - Fire & Security Estimating

Join a growing and supportive team where you'll play a key part in preparing estimates and proposals for Fire Detection, Intruder Alarm, Access Control and CCTV systems.

This role is ideal for experienced Senior Administrators, Junior Estimators, or anyone looking to step into a more technical and rewarding admin role.

You'll receive full training, ongoing support and a clear development plan, with genuine opportunities to progress as the business continues to grow.

The Role:
  • Produce and format quotations, proposals and design documents
  • Request pricing and product information from suppliers
  • Keep internal systems updated and accurate
  • Follow up on quotations and assist Account Managers with queries
  • Prepare contract documents and O&M manuals
  • Liaise with suppliers on deliveries, returns and technical details
  • Respond professionally to customer and supplier enquiries
  • Support the Senior Estimator and Purchaser with supplier management
  • Complete all tasks with accuracy, efficiency and great attention to detail
About You:
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail; able to work at pace
  • Commercially aware and confident handling multiple priorities
  • Experience in fire & security or construction admin is beneficial but not essential
  • Junior Estimators or Senior Administrators with transferable skills welcome
  • Knowledge of BS 5839 / BS 8629 is advantageous
  • Motivated, proactive and keen to develop your career
