Gallagher Re in London seeks a proactive actuarial professional to join the UK & Ireland Actuarial team. You will drive analytics and pricing across casualty and property lines, manage renewals, and collaborate with brokers and reinsurers to deliver optimal terms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects involving reserving and capital elements.
• Drive analytical broking discussions with reinsurers to optimize terms.
• Articulate the value in reinsurance to clients with technical and commercial insights.
• Build a network of analytical and broking contacts across the market.
• Lead or participate in RFPs for reinsurance strategies placements.

Overview

Gallagher Re is seeking a dynamic and proactive professional to join the UK & Ireland Actuarial team in London, where brokers, actuaries, account handlers, and catastrophe modellers collaborate to deliver exceptional results. As one of the largest broking teams in the industry, we placed over £800 million of XOL premium at the recent 1.1 renewals alone. By joining us, you'll have the opportunity to work with a large and diverse client base, delivering analytical expertise across both long and short tail lines of business to clients ranging from established blue-chips to innovative start-up MGAs. Together with our brokers, who bring an extensive knowledge of the market, and together with them, you will engage with reinsurers to share analytics, support their decision-making, and challenge their assumptions. How You'll Make An Impact

Your Role:

• Play a key part in strategic reviews of reinsurance strategies for clients both proportional and non-proportional
• Develop portfolio of renewals and deepen relationships and communication with clients, brokers and reinsurers on these accounts
• Lead on pricing across a variety of casualty and property lines of business covering the UK and Ireland
• Oversee associated projects involving reserving and capital elements depending on client interests and needs
• Drive analytical broking discussions with reinsurers to help our clients achieve optimal reinsurance terms
• Articulate the value in reinsurance to clients, providing insight on market pricing from both a technical and commercial angle
• Build a network of analytical (and broking) contacts across the market
• Lead/participate in RFPs for reinsurance strategies placements
• Manage / Mentor junior colleagues
• Develop technical and innovative solutions to modelling or data issues
• Work collaboratively with our advisory and capital solutions teams to create thought leadership for our clients’ needs

About You

Your Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

• Proven work experience, preferably with some reinsurance knowledge
• Strong analytical skills, ability to apply advanced mathematical / actuarial concepts and techniques to a dynamic environment
• Strong interpersonal skills to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders
• Sound oral and written communication skills
• Ability to process and interpret data quickly, creatively and accurately
• Ability to handle contending priorities and delegate tasks as appropriate
• Ability to prioritise risks to manage concurrent workflow
• Team and project management skills
• Eligible to work in the UK
