Publica Group in Witney is seeking a Senior Acoustics Officer to join the Environmental Protection team on a 2 days per week basis. The role focuses on acoustics, noise and vibration within planning, licensing and environmental protection contexts.

You will provide specialist guidance on complex cases, review acoustic assessments, and contribute to sustainable development decisions while enjoying flexible working and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Acoustics, Environmental Health or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in acoustics, noise assessment or environmental protection.
• Minimum of 3 years in an acoustics related role.
• Strong understanding of UK acoustic standards, guidance and legislation.
• Experience of reviewing and interpreting technical acoustic assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide balanced, pragmatic and defensible professional advice.

Responsibilities

• Specialist on acoustics, noise and vibration matters.
• Investigate complex noise complaints and environmental protection cases.
• Review acoustic assessments for planning and licensing applications.
• Provide specialist advice to Planning, Licensing and Environmental Protection colleagues.
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory responses.
• Represent the service at hearings, appeals and legal proceedings where required.
