Job description

Kenny Recruit have partnered with a forward-thinking, multi-genre distributor to find a Senior Accounts Assistant. Our client works closely with producers to package IP for international sale, delivering a transparent, cost-effective model that keeps more revenue in the hands of rights holders. Their sister company manages and distributes thousands of hours of premium content including films, documentaries, series, sport, and comedy. Operating nine FAST channels, offering a full-spectrum, low-cost distribution service across all rights and platforms.

We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join this dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their finance career with a few years of experience under their belt, who is eager to learn, grow, and progress. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of your responsibilities, and delivering accurate, timely reporting and financial management across multiple revenue streams. Key focus areas include producer royalty reporting (FAST, VOD, and Linear), accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Sitting at the centre of the finance and distribution operation, this position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with acquisitions, sales, operations, and external partners.

Pay : £30,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience) + benefits

Location : Central London. 1 day in the office required

Working hours : 9 : 30am - 5.30pm

Key Responsibilities
Royalty Reporting & Revenue Accounting
  • Prepare and deliver monthly royalty statements for producers, providing transparent revenue and cost breakdowns.
  • Reconcile revenues from VOD, FAST and linear TV exploitation across multiple global platforms.
  • Analyse sales reports, platform statements, and licence fee data to ensure complete and accurate revenue capture.
  • Maintain and update royalty reporting systems and templates, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
  • Act as primary point of contact for producers on royalty queries, report explanations, and financial performance insights.
Accounts Receivable
  • Issue invoices to broadcasters, streamers, and digital platforms in line with contractual terms.
  • Track and chase outstanding payments, maintaining a clear and up-to-date AR ledger.
  • Reconcile incoming receipts, ensuring correct allocation between titles, partners, and revenue streams.
  • Support cashflow forecasting through accurate reporting of expected receipts.
Accounts Payable
  • Process supplier and producer invoices, ensuring appropriate coding and approval flows.
  • Prepare weekly / monthly payment runs, managing relationships with vendors and rights holders.
  • Monitor AP ageing and resolve discrepancies with suppliers or internal teams.
Financial Operations & Support
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes including accruals, reconciliations, and audit support.
  • Maintain accurate financial records aligned with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of finance processes, systems, and controls.
  • Work closely with sales, rights, and operations to ensure financial accuracy across contracts and deal terms.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar Accounts Assistant, Royalty Accountant, or Finance role within TV distribution, content licensing, media, or entertainment.
  • Strong understanding of VOD / FAST / linear TV exploitation, digital platform reporting, and content revenue models.
  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with royalty or rights management systems is highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience of Xero would be advantageous (but not essential).
  • Strong numerical accuracy, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders, including producers and partners.
  • Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple workflows simultaneously.
  • A team player with a proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
