We are working with a large international organisation to recruit a Senior Statutory Accountant into the Global Finance team. The role focuses on US GAAP to UK GAAP conversions, statutory reporting and supporting external audits.

You will lead statutory accounting across multiple entities, drive governance improvements and partner with stakeholders across finance, tax and legal. Hybrid working with three days on-site is offered. There is a clear path to leadership and a newly created role.

Qualifikationen

• Proven hands-on experience of US GAAP to UK GAAP conversions (essential).
• Strong UK statutory accounting and financial reporting experience.
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred, although not essential.

We re working with a large international organisation to recruit a newly created Senior Statutory Accountant position within its Global Finance team.

This is a highly specialised opportunity that will suit a technically strong accountant with proven experience of US GAAP to UK GAAP conversions, statutory reporting and audit. Due to the niche skillset required, opportunities like this do not come to market very often.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll play a key role in statutory accounting and compliance activities across multiple legal entities, while helping to drive best practice, process improvement and technical excellence across the wider finance function. The role will also have responsibility for one direct report initially, with further team growth planned.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead statutory accounting and reporting activities across multiple entities
• Prepare and review UK statutory accounts, ensuring full compliance with reporting requirements
• Manage and oversee US GAAP to UK GAAP adjustments and conversions
• Provide technical accounting expertise on complex reporting and compliance matters
• Support external audits and act as a key point of contact for auditors
• Drive improvements to accounting processes, controls and governance frameworks
• Partner with stakeholders across finance, tax, legal and operational teams
• Contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

To be considered, you'll ideally bring:

• Proven hands-on experience of US GAAP to UK GAAP conversions (essential)
• Strong UK statutory accounting and financial reporting experience
• A solid audit background, either from practice or industry
• Experience working within a medium to large-sized organisation
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
• The ability to influence and work effectively with senior stakeholders
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred, although not essential
• Big 4 experience would be advantageous but is by no means a requirement

Ideal Background

This role is likely to suit an accountant with approximately 4-8 years' overall experience, including 2-5 years post-qualified experience, who has moved into industry and developed strong statutory reporting expertise within a larger corporate environment.

Unfortunately, candidates with solely SME experience or purely practice-based backgrounds without relevant industry exposure are unlikely to be the right fit.
