Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage your own portfolio of clients ensuring work is completed accurately.
  • Prepare bookkeeping records and VAT returns.
  • Prepare accounts for companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Complete corporation tax computations and self-assessment returns.
  • Assist and mentor junior team members.
  • Build strong relationships and provide proactive advice.
  • Contribute to various projects as required.

Job Description: Senior Accountant. Location: Lancaster. Salary: up to £35k.

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting for an established Chartered Accountancy practice in Lancaster seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity with a firm that has been serving clients for almost 50 years. Our client is a well-established practice serving diverse clients across the country. They specialise in traditional accountancy services, tax advice and value-added services. The firm prides itself on personal client service and staff development.

The Role
  • Client Portfolio Management: Manage your own portfolio of clients ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
  • Bookkeeping & VAT: Prepare bookkeeping records and VAT returns for diverse clients
  • Financial Statements: Prepare accounts for companies, partnerships and sole traders
  • Tax Services: Complete corporation tax computations and self assessment returns
  • Team Support: Assist and mentor junior team members
  • Client Relations: Build strong relationships and provide proactive advice
  • Ad-hoc Support: Contribute to various projects as required
What We Are Looking For
  • Qualification: AAT qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in accountancy practice with 2 years in senior role
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge, client management abilities and software proficiency
  • Attributes: Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
