Senior Accountant / Management – Northwood

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Northwood-based, modern cloud-accountancy practice. This role blends technical expertise, client advisory, and team leadership, offering significant influence within a fast-growing firm.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Compliance
- Finalise statutory accounts under FRS 102 / FRS 105
- Review and oversee bookkeeping, VAT, CIS, and payroll submissions
- Manage all statutory filings with HMRC and Companies House
- Ensure compliance and accuracy across client portfolios
Advisory & Strategy
- Provide proactive tax planning and business advisory support
- Help improve internal systems, workflows and processes
- Deliver meaningful financial insights, KPIs and analysis to clients
- Support the development of cloud-driven automation and efficiencies
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, coach and mentor junior team members
- Review work prepared by staff and allocate workflow effectively
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance service delivery
Client Management
- Act as the primary technical contact for assigned clients
- Build strong long‑term relationships through proactive communication
- Present financial information clearly and confidently to clients
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
- Fully qualified ACCA / ACA (or equivalent) — essential
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ post‑qualification experience in a UK practice
- Proven experience supervising junior staff
- Strong background in accounts, tax, and cloud‑based workflows
Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Xero
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP, VAT, CIS, and PAYE
- Confident working across multiple client sectors
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary : £41,000 – £50,000 per year (DOE)
