Royal London is on the lookout for a Senior Accessibility Specialist to join our innovative Design Team - a fantastic opportunity for an expert passionate about creating truly inclusive digital experiences.

In this hands‑on role, you'll take the lead on accessibility testing and audits across websites, mobile apps (native and hybrid), and digital artefacts, ensuring every product meets Royal London Group's high accessibility standards. You'll combine manual and automated evaluation methods to uncover issues, then deliver clear, actionable insights that empower development teams to make meaningful improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accessibility, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with predominately technical teams.

About the role
  • Drive manual and automated accessibility audits across websites, native apps, and digital artefacts.
  • Assess products against WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to embed accessibility into every design.
  • Partner with developers to resolve issues and optimise code for inclusivity.
  • Use assistive tech like NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, ZoomText, and Dragon.
  • Produce clear, actionable reports and guidance for technical teams.
  • Champion accessibility awareness through GAAD events and internal workshops.
  • Support other related tasks within the Design Team.
About you
  • A confident communicator who can explain accessibility principles to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience conducting audits, creating detailed reports, and delivering practical recommendations.
  • Skilled in delivering accessible solutions across desktop, mobile, and cross-platform environments.
  • Strong problem‑solver with a knack for identifying barriers and advising best‑practice fixes.
  • Advocate for user‑centred design with deep knowledge of inclusive principles.
  • Technical expertise in WCAG 2.2, ARIA roles, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Hands‑on experience with assistive technologies like NVDA, TalkBack, VoiceOver, ZoomText, and Dragon.
  • Proficient in accessibility tools such as axe DevTools, CCA, and Siteimprove.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and staying ahead of evolving standards.
