Job summary

Nokia is seeking a Radio Research and Standardization Specialist in Cambridge to lead 6G research and standardization efforts. You will drive innovation in radio interface design and shape resource management requirements. This role includes being a key technical contributor and 3GPP representative, ensuring alignment with Nokia’s research agendas.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field, with 5+ years of experience in 6G-related topics. Flexible working arrangements and opportunities for continuous learning are part of the role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of research experience in 6G-relevant radio topics.
• Proven track record in concept development and technical leadership.
• Solid knowledge of performance analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end 6G radio protocol research and standardization.
• Serve as Nokia’s delegate representative to 3GPP.
• Shape Nokia’s 6G technology and standards strategy.

Skills

System-level expertise in 5G and/or 6G systems

Deep understanding of radio access systems

Prior 3GPP standardization experience

Fluent in English

Education

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in relevant field

Link-level and system-level simulators
