Job summary

Belmore Primary Academy is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team. The role is fixed-term, full-time, term-time only plus 5 INSET days, with ASAP start.

Salary is NJC Scale 6 (£25,044 actual per annum). The school supports safeguarding and professional development; candidates should have experience with SEND and be able to work across mainstream and specialist provision.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with special educational needs.
• Experience supporting pupils in a primary school.
• Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE or equivalent).
• Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning desirable; training provided.
• Able to work as part of a team and understand safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, preparation and delivery of activities for individuals and small groups.
• Lead on activities for larger groups under teacher supervision.
• Deliver pre-determined learning and literacy/numeracy interventions.
• Support pupils to understand instructions and use ICT/tools.
• Support across mainstream and SEND provision with adaptable resources.
